Yes. It causes conflicts between agents and companies. If you decide to change agents, please let the first agent know.

What is the difference between a REALTOR® and a real estate agent?

A real estate agent is a REALTOR® when he or she is a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, The Voice for Real Estate® -- the world's largest professional association.

The term REALTOR® is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics.

What is affiliate membership?

Affiliate membership is for anyone who is involved in real estate, but is not a licensed real estate agent, such as a lending institutions, mortgage brokers, title companies or home inspectors. It allows you to network with REALTORS® through various events. The affiliates can get involved with the committees of their choosing including the affiliate committee.

What is the difference between the primary and secondary membership?

Your primary board is the board that you pay your State and National dues through. Any board that you join after your primary board, is your secondary board. You have the Same benefits of primary membership. You would only pay local dues at your secondary board(s).
